Whether you’re an entrepreneur, climbing the corporate ladder, or pursuing health and fitness goals, one thing is guaranteed… you’ve probably spiraled.
We have all been guilty of overthinking ourselves into exhaustion at some point.
Sure, we can have a clear goal and solid plan to get from point A to B.
Yet still end up second-guessing every move in the name of being thorough.
Sis, overthinking is not a strategy. *Holding your hands*
It is self-doubt in disguise
When we have a great strategy in place, but we don't see immediate results, don't panic.
Panic leads us to start taking shortcuts and bouncing from one idea to the next, hoping to get there quicker.
And we might even succeed.
But if we get there through hustle, stress, and depletion, we’ll pay for it later.
We will feel it in our energy, health, business, and relationships.
Does this look familiar…
Burnout ->
Catch up and clean up->
Achieve a version of ‘success’ that doesn’t feel good to hold.
This happens with our health too.
We know how to get fit and healthy.
The internet is full of free plans, and many of us are investing in coaches, trainers, and nutritionists.
But if the scale doesn’t move fast enough, or the mirror doesn’t reflect back what we hoped, we panic.
We add extra workouts.
Cut more calories.
Buy another supplement.
We don’t trust the process… or ourselves.
And end up wrecking our metabolism.
Bodybuilding taught me about trusting the process.
When I was training for competitions, it was all about learning to trust…yourself, your Coach, the process.
First, you pick a show date.
Then your Coach reverse-engineers the strategy.
And then?
You commit.
It doesn’t matter how bloated you feel one day or how slow your progress seems.
It’s not a feelings game.
It’s a ‘trust the process’ game.
You will feel like giving up.
You will feel like doing more than necessary.
You will be tempted to change everything mid-stream.
And sometimes a change is necessary and you do pivot.
But the key is knowing the difference between fear-based tinkering and aligned adjustment.
When it comes to your health, your business, your relationships (anything really) ask yourself…
Do I care how I feel on the way to this goal?
Who do I want to be when I arrive?
If you push yourself with a “do whatever it takes even if it kills me” mentality, you may hit the goal …but at what cost?
Treating yourself that way creates distrust of yourself.
That mindset is rooted in control, not confidence.
When we reach our goals exhausted, disconnected, and burnt out, the achievement doesn’t feel like we are winning.
And it doesn't last long.
So, how do you learn to trust yourself?
Self-care teaches us how to trust the process.
The self-care journey is a training ground for trust.
It’s how we practice…
Honoring our timelines
Listening to our bodies
Knowing when to push and when to rest
Creating daily proof that we are capable of sustainable growth
Self-care teaches us that achievement is less about the destination and more about the relationship we build with ourselves along the way.
Yes, we want to start/scale the business or get the promotion.
But it cannot cost us our peace or our physical and mental health.
That is not a trustworthy process.
Self-care says build trust with yourself by nourishing with rest, water and good food.
I mean…why not enjoy the process so we can look and feel amazing when we get there?
Whether you're launching a product, healing your gut, or preparing for a raise, trust is a process that requires practice….not perfection.
I know we don’t hear this often, but Sis…we deserve to feel good before we get ‘there’.
We deserve all the good stuff without the grind.
We deserve to arrive with energy in our body and peace in our heart.
To build trust with our Self, maybe instead of asking, “How can I get there faster?”, we can ask,
“How can I get there in a way that builds trust, honors my well-being, and allows me to enjoy the process?”
That’s the question that leads to results that will last.
